TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I am a committed educator who offers private online and in-person lessons. My teaching experience ranges from pre-college, undergraduate, graduate, and adult students. I am currently Affiliate Professor of Violin at Grand Valley State University. My most recent teaching settings have been at the Eastman School of Music, Nazareth College, Eastman Community Music School, University of Rochester, and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School.

My teaching objective is two-fold: first, to help students develop solid foundations in the basics of violin performance, ensemble and chamber music, and well-grounded listening skills. Second, to provide a safe environment to guide students in their understanding of music. These objectives are achieved by intentionally fostering a safe environment for students to explore their creativity and develop discipline.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the notion that students are not alike and should not be treated alike. I curate lessons to support each student's individual personality and learning style to nurture a successful approach to the violin and to music.
